This is an unpaid position, perfect for writers looking to build their portfolio, gain exposure, and contribute to a mission-driven publication dedicated to celebrating creativity, authenticity, and diverse perspectives.

 

Our platform was built for independent artists, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and cultural visionaries—and we want writers who can help amplify those voices.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Writers with a unique voice and strong perspective
  • Experience covering hip-hop, Black culture, community issues, local politics, lifestyle, and fashion
  • Ability to pitch and write compelling, well-researched stories
  • Journalism background is a plus—but passion, originality, and consistency matter most

 

Requirements:

  • Write engaging, well-researched articles on our core topics
  • Craft personal narratives, expert interviews, or thought-provoking opinion pieces
  • Submit at least one article per month (or on an agreed schedule)
  • Collaborate with the editorial team for clarity, impact, and consistency
  • Conduct interviews with community leaders, independent artists, and entrepreneurs
  • Attend important meetings (via Zoom or in-person)
  • Strong writing, editing, and research skills
  • Meet deadlines and accept editorial feedback
  • Prior writing experience or published work is a plus (but not required)
